External line marking that lasts through every season

External line marking faces a far harsher environment than anything indoors. Rain, frost, UV, temperature swings, standing water and heavy HGV loads all attack the markings, and a cheap paint job will fade and flake within a single winter. Fastline specialises in hard-wearing external marking systems designed to stay bright, sharp and safe on tarmac and concrete for years, keeping your car parks, yards and access roads organised and compliant.

Before we mark, we assess the surface, drainage and traffic so we can specify the right material and set out the layout to make the best use of your space. Whether you are creating a new car park, reorganising a service yard, adding EV charging bays or refreshing faded markings, we deliver a professional finish that performs in real UK weather.

What we mark outside

Our external line marking covers everything from customer car parks to heavy-duty industrial yards:

  • Standard, compact, disabled and parent-and-child parking bays
  • EV charging bay marking and supporting safety infrastructure
  • Loading bays, HGV manoeuvring areas and goods-in routes
  • Access road centre lines, edge lines, hatching and give-way lines
  • Directional arrows, speed roundels, lettering and warning symbols
  • Pedestrian crossings, walkways and segregated safe routes

Materials built for the outdoors

For external work we typically use hot-applied thermoplastic and MMA (methyl methacrylate). Thermoplastic delivers excellent durability and reflectivity for roadways and car parks, while MMA cures quickly even in lower temperatures and offers outstanding adhesion on tarmac and concrete, making it ideal for high-traffic and colder-weather installations. Surfaces must be clean and dry, never wet, and are primed with a tack coat to ensure a strong, long-lasting bond.

We schedule external works around your operation and the weather, often completing car parks and yards out of hours or in phases so access is maintained. The result is clear, durable, compliant marking that improves safety, maximises capacity and makes a strong first impression on visitors.
