Why floor preparation matters

Most resin floor and coating failures come down to one thing: poor preparation. Dust, oils, laitance and old coatings stop new systems bonding, and without the correct surface profile even the best products will eventually peel or delaminate. Proper mechanical preparation is the single most important step in any flooring or line marking project, and it's where Fastline never cuts corners.

We select the right preparation method for the substrate and the system being installed, removing contamination and creating a sound, profiled surface that the new floor or marking can grip.

Our preparation methods

Different floors and finishes call for different preparation techniques, and we use the right one for the job.

  • Shot blasting for profiling large areas
  • Diamond grinding for smooth, level surfaces
  • Scarifying for removing thick coatings
  • Crack, joint and defect repair before priming
